Building Your Dream Team

It’s more than ticking boxes, it’s about building your dream team.
Planning a wedding is one of the most exciting (and yes, sometimes overwhelming) parts of the journey to your big day. One of the most important decisions you’ll make is choosing the right suppliers, the people who’ll bring your vision to life and help create those unforgettable moments.
But it’s not just about the best price or the trendiest Instagram feed, it’s about finding suppliers who understand your style, your personality, and your priorities.
Here’s my advice after years of working with incredible couples and fabulous wedding professionals:
-
Go with your gut. That initial feeling of “this is the one” is often spot on. If someone makes you feel excited and at ease, trust that.
-
Look for connection, not just credentials. You want to feel like you’re working with a person, not just ticking a box.
-
Be involved. Whether it's the florist or the DJ, build a relationship, your day will feel all the more personal for it.
-
Ask questions. Good suppliers will welcome this. They’ll guide you, explain their process, and help you feel confident in your choices.
-
Read real reviews. Feedback from other couples gives you insight you won’t find in a brochure.

And here’s a really important point…
If you’re hiring a wedding planner or coordinator, choose someone who supports your journey, not someone who takes over.
The best planners are those who guide, organise, and help you breathe easier, not those who cut you off from your suppliers. Direct communication with your suppliers is where the magic happens. That’s where you build trust, share ideas, and ensure your wedding feels authentically you. A good planner will work alongside your suppliers, not as a wall between you and them.
I’ve seen first-hand how wonderfully things flow when everyone is connected and working together. If you ever need recommendations for brilliant suppliers (or planners who get it just right), I’m always happy to help.
Because when your team feels like your team, the sparkle really starts to shine.
